psychological fact.
When a person cries and the first drop of tears comes from the right eye, it's from happiness. But when the first fall is from the left, it is pain.
my heart goes out to Japan
The video below was the first video I saw of the effects of the 8.9 magnitude earthquake that struck Japan yesterday, March 11, 2011. Just horrifying.
This next video shows the Tsunami after the earthquake. Reports as high as 23m of water. As you can see, the raging waters just swept everything in its path - cars, boats, trees - everything. Domestic media said the death toll was expected to exceed 1,000, most of whom appeared to have drowned by churning waters.
And damn, this is what people see in Sendai airport. Just totally filled with debris and cars and airplanes altogether.
God be with them.
God be with us all.

a change? yeah, probably
I was reading this article in Yahoo! News and it was talking about how "young" voters are already fighting for their right to vote in the upcoming 2012 elections. Many are against it, stating that college voters are "foolish", they "lack life experience", and "just vote their feelings".
That may be true for others, but it is not true for me.
It takes me back to the time when Michelle Obama, the current U.S. First Lady, visited our college school way back on November 3, 2008 (the day before the election). Her speech definitely targeted 'young people' and these young voters helped paved the way for President Barack Obama towards the White House.
Watch the video below.
Yeah, you're probably asking now if I voted last 2008. I was going to, but, I didn't. Why? It wasn't for the 'lack of life experience', nor was I going to vote my feelings. I was indecisive.
My stepfather voted, and he was the only one in my immediate family who voted. He voted for John McCain. And it wasn't because for McCain's experience nor his campaign platform. It was because the other guy he's running against is an African American. So I guess even people who I can say "mature and are experienced" vote on their feelings as well. Weeks leading up to the election day he was contemplating whether to vote for the "old, white dude" or the "young, black dude". I, on the other hand, was trying to compare and contrast their campaign platform and issues that are of importance to them and which one is actually better for the people.
When the results started coming in, I remember one of my uncles told my stepDad: "You voted for McCain? He's going to lose." And stepDad's reply? "I don't care if he's going to lose. The last thing I'm doing is voting for an African American to be the president of this country."
So much for young people as the ones voting on 'their feelings'.
Millions of Dead Fish in Redondo Beach
So I thought this was interesting to share. Millions of dead anchovies in Redondo Beach, California.
The police came up with this theory that the possible cause of their death is that they were a big school of fish, and there simply wasn't enough oxygen for all of them. Interesting.
The numbers are estimated to be in the millions. Please watch the video.

a blessed new day
A blessed morning, everyone!
Mich and I are still here @ Ate Gen's place. The 'rents are cooking breakfast. All is well.
We probably went to bed at almost 2am and woke up just a few minutes ago. Dang, i slept well! Lol. I feel like I wanna keep coming back here. (Thanks for having us, Ate Gen!)
I love mornings, though I am not a morning person. It's because mornings, for me, are God's blessings to us. It's the beginning of a brand new day. It's His way of letting us correct the mistakes we've made the previous days, and make the present a better one.
Do you know what music I woke up to this morning? Ate Gen was playing spiritual songs. Don Moens. Gary Valenciano. We started with "Thank You, Lord", then went on to "Lead Me, Lord". Timely, you know.
But anyway, we'll be off to church soon. It's always nice to start the day right.
May you always put God at the center of everything. May He be your focus in your life, instead of anything and everything else. Instill Matthew 6:33, and you can have everything you've wanted and still wanting.
God bless you, everyone.
I love you.

U.S.O @ Minglanilla
So guess what? We had the first USO at Minglanilla today. Blessings, of course. And well, abundance. :) God is good. I see that the tandem of Ate Gen and Mich is a good one. And although it was just the two of them, with the support of Ate Gen's family of course, tonight has been really great.
First we went to Kosin Grill. Very nice ambiance, and really quiet and romantic. :) Lols. But, the supervisor and the other servers asked for a sample of the UNO products. I trust that they will love it and order, or maybe even join in the future!
Next, around about 8pm, we traveled to Naga's Baywalk place. We first went to Ate Mayette's place where we had halo-halo. Talked for a bit and Ate Gen and Ate Mayette caught up with each other. Topic was, of course none other than, UNO! Yay!
Then we went to the other side of the baywalk at Ate Sonia's place. Had siomai, but I've had enough of the food for the night. I was beyond full. My stomach was just about to burst. :'(
And well now? Mich and I are here at Ate Gen's place with some karaoke (and more food!) and we're in great company.
More power and more blessings to Ate Gen and her family, and abundance to both Mich and Ate Gen. :)

the flier's out! yay!
Okay. So this is the flier for the upcoming FLEX Event. Credits to Kuya David Aaron Nunez for this beautifully made flier. :)
I see that a lot of people will be staffing for the event. Chief Ate Shi has already sent the agenda for our first staff meeting this Monday. Excited much? :)

FLEX it up!
The next batch of FLEX Cebu is going to be on March 26th and 27th (Saturday and Sunday) and I am beyond excited! In fact, I've been thinking about it so much the past couple of days that I ended up dreaming about it last night. Oh boy.
So ever since graduating from FLEX Cebu Batch 7 last December 5th, 2010, I've always wanted to staff the succeeding FLEX Seminars - but school has gotten in the way of that. Thankfully, this next batch will finally give me the opportunity to do what I've wanted to experience - staffing for a FLEX Seminar.
FLEX, for those of you who doesn't know, stands for Foundations of Leadership Excellence. It's an amazing program by OCCI.
My life before FLEX was 'okay'. After FLEX, it basically turned around and now I embrace life and all its blessings and challenges. I look forward to each day with excitement and enthusiasm and loving how each and every day has turned out. I thank Coach Russ Juson, who happened to the facilitator for that said event last December. He's so fun to be with and just full of life and positive-ness! :)
I've already made this long enough. Haha. As the event draws closer, I will be of course posting updates. We will have staff meetings every Monday until the week of the event. That'll get us hyped up, definitely! :)

"FLEX is a two-day experiential journey to self-discovery and transformation. Participants are given the opportunity to examine their values, paradigms, attitudes and behaviors and decide which ones create success so that these can be nurtured. Success is a learned behavior. It is repeatable..."So yeah. Excitement excitement excitement!
